Divine feminineThe divine feminine reveals the existence of the mother goddess within us and the universe in the form of thoughts, dreams, images and symbols. It also represents fertility, reproduction, movement, creativity and generation. The mother goddess in this form is the mystery as well as the reality of the universe and symbolizes the existence of the supreme as the source of all life. If we look from the ancient times to the latest of religions we find that the divine feminine archetypes are related to the process of death, decay, rebirth, purification, transformation and illumination of matter. This archetype representation has been seen in the ancient goddesses of the lost civilizations like Ishtar-Astarte or the goddess traditions in Paganism, Tibetan Buddhism and Hinduism. The divine feminine archetypes portray the truth of life in the fullest of forms and the meeting of the spiritual and the material world is only possible through the manifestation of the divine feminine. This truth of divine feminine and its manifestations has to be reemphasised in today’s world which has all but forgotten the real nature of the universe and the supreme. Though the divine feminine archetypes were accepted and venerated from the ancient days of human civilizations, somewhere down the line this strong feminine connection was discarded in many of the modern religions. Today we are paying the price for that mistake. Most of the problems that are seen in today’s world are the result of looking at the supreme as “He” and this “He” is attributed with the bloodshed of holy wars and conquests. The reality is far away from this myopic view. The supreme force in actuality is the culmination of the feminine and masculine principles of nature in a universal void which is devoid of any beginning or end. The Taoist, Buddhist and Hindu philosophies talk loudly of the culmination of the divine feminine and masculine leading to the creation of the universal void. This is reality and the ultimate truth of life which clearly reveals to us that the feminine principle is the source of birth, nurturing, creative and generative change as well as the reason for decay, death and regeneration.
Divine feminine: The manifestation of the feminine principle Unless we accept the manifestation of the feminine principle or divine feminine in the form of birth, growth, death, decay, transformation and rebirth, we would not be able to appreciate the working of the universe. In fact the divine feminine or the feminine principle is responsible for the nurturing and sustaining influence of the universe and it is the absolute source for the proactive and initiating nature of the masculine. This is true within us as well as the external universe. Further we need to understand that it is only the interplay of the feminine and masculine that is responsible for the genesis of creativity and here once again let me reemphasize on the fact that the masculine exits because of the feminine and if we don’t have the feminine as the source then we don’t have any action based on the masculine. The divine feminine: The interplay of the feminine and masculine principles In Hinduism it is very clearly taught that all creativity in this universe is the result of the interplay of the divine feminine and masculine. The Taoists, see this truth in the symbolism of Yin/Yang where the black and white forces interact to create the universe. Tibetan Buddhist respect this interplay of the divine feminine and masculine through the symbolization of the dorge and the bell. The Bell is the feminine and the dorge the masculine aspect. All rituals are done with the help of these symbols. We must understand the fact that the truth is to see the universe as a whole and not separate he or she or the dark or the light or the day or night. The universe is in fact the interplay of all these manifestations. Further there is no question of any existence of the masculine without the existence of the feminine principle. The feminine principle is the beginning, the present and the end of everything and the masculine is just an attribute supporting this universal phenomenon. The truth is that in independence, the masculine principle does not have any meaning and purpose at all.
Divine feminine: The goddess exists within all of us
The irony of today’s world is that we only see one half of the truth which is the secondary and dependant half. We have in fact become blind to the primary and independent aspect of the truth. As a result of this anomaly and its consequence in the form of uncontrolled manifestation of the masculine principle, we can see great imbalance in the universe. All the chaos and destruction that we are seeing today is the result of this anomaly and imbalance. To restore the balance of the universe we need to rekindle the divine feminine that actually exists in all of us. The goddess that exists within us has to be called upon and expressed within our own inner self as well as the external universe. Only the energy of the goddess can propel us towards the true direction and purpose of our life. The Mantra is to achieve a balance in life by evoking the feminine and move towards the path of ultimate liberation. Once we start achieving the balance within our own inner self, then it starts manifesting in our relationships with others and the world at large. This is the only way to bring back the balance in the universe.
