Fashion bikinis

Fashion bikinis or two-piece is a type of women's swimsuit, characterized by two separate parts- one covering the breasts (optionally in the case of the Monokini), the other the groin (and optionally the buttocks), leaving an uncovered area between the two garments. It is often worn in hot weather or while swimming. The shapes of both parts of a bikini closely resemble women's underwear, and the lower part of a bikini can therefore range from the more revealing thong or g-string, to briefs, and modest square-cut shorts.

Bikini is the most popular beachwear around the globe, which is, according to French fashion historian Olivier Saillard, due to "the power of women, and not the power of fashion", as he explains, ""The emancipation of swimwear has always been linked to the emancipation of women."By mid 2000s, these two-piece bathing suits evolved into an US$ 811 million business annually, according to the NPD Group, a consumer and retail information company. The bikini has boosted spin-off services like bikini waxing and the sun tanning industries.

Fashion bikinis: String bikini

A string bikini refers to a bikini swimsuit that is scantier and more revealing than traditional bikinis. It gets its name from the string characteristics of its design. Rather than featuring a full single piece bottom, the string bikini consists of two triangular shaped pieces connected at the groin but not at the sides, where a thin "string" wraps around the waist connecting the two parts. String bikini tops are similar and are tied in place by the attached "string" pieces. String pieces can either be continuous or tied.

Fashion bikinis: Monokini

A monokini, sometimes referred to as a unikini, is a woman's one piece beach garment equivalent to the lower half of a bikini. The term is used for different styles of one-piece swimsuits inspired by the bikini.

Fashion bikinis: Microkini

A microkini is an extremely skimpy bikini. The designs for both women and men typically use only enough fabric to cover the genitalia. Any additional straps are merely to keep the garment attached to the wearer's body. Some variations of the microkini use adhesive or wire to hold the fabric in place over the genitals. These designs do not require any additional side straps to keep the garment in place. The most radical variations of the microkini are simply thin straps which cover little or none of the wearer's body.

Fashion bikinis: Tankini

The tankini is a swimsuit combining a tank top and a bikini bottom. The tankini is distinguished from the classic bikini by the difference in tops, the top of the tankini essentially being a tank top. The tankini top extends downward to somewhere between just above the navel and the top of the hips. The word is a neologism combining the tank of tank top with the end of the word bikini.

Fashion bikinis: Sling bikini

The sling bikini is also known as a "suspender bikini", "suspender thong", "slingshot bikini" or just "slingshot". The slingshot is a one-piece suit which provides as little, or even less, coverage (or as much exposure) as a bikini. Usually, a slingshot resembles a bikini bottom, but rather than the straps going around the hips or waist, the side straps extend upwards to cover the breasts and go over the shoulders, leaving the entire sides of the torso uncovered, but the nipples and pubic area covered. Behind the neck, the straps join and reach down the back to become a thong.

Fashion bikinis: Sports bikini

Sports bikinis are used while playing Beach Volleyball. Female athletes who play beach volleyball professionally usually wear two-pieces. These bikinis are designed with functionality rather than fashion in mind. In 1994, the bikini became the official uniform of women's Olympic beach volleyball, marking a female sexuality that was also athletic. Often the women in athletics also wear bikinis, not much larger than in beach volleyball.

Fashion bikinis: Bikini underwear

Types of underwear worn by both men and women are identified as bikini underwear which is similar in size and revealing nature to the bottom half of a bikini bathing suit. For women, bikini underwear can refer to virtually any tight, skimpy, or revealing undergarment that provides less coverage to the midsection than traditional underwear, panties or knickers.

Fashion bikinis: The color of your skin is more important

So what do you think? Is it the color of your skin or the color of the bikini that you wear that really matters? According to a survey conducted by an international fashion magazine, tanned looking skin is more attractive to men than perfect body curves on beaches. So when going to the beach, apply foundation darker than the one you use in office. Or you can apply self-tanning products which are water-proof and can give the appearance of darker the skin. The “tan” will fade in three to seven days. For a glittering touch, add shimmering powder to your collarbone, shoulders and cleavage to make you look sexier.

Fashion bikinis: Pay attention to corners of your body

Before going to the beach pay attention to little corners of your body. Women don’t pay enough attention to their backs, elbows and knees when in the office, but you need to make up for it before setting out for a beach. Before you go, have a hot bath. It will help soften the hard skin on your back. If you can have someone scrub your back, it works even better. For knees and elbows, apply a polishing cream with big grains in it to exfoliate the dead skin. Bruises can also diminish the looks of a charming lady. The way to get rid of them is to use a tube of yellowish correcting cream, apply it to the bruised area, and then cover it with some dark foundation powder.

Fashion bikinis: Try to manage the bloated body look

Remember that a bloated body is far from attractive. During travelling, lack of sleep and adapting to a strange place can both lead to a bloated body. To prevent the body from swelling, don’t wear tight pants or socks and wear low-heeled shoes. If you body is bloated, here are four life savers: Drink four to five glasses of tears water (Chinese barley) the day before you go to the beach. This helps drain extra water from your body. Massage slimming cream or massage oil onto your body for 15 minutes, and the next day you’ll have a slimmer body.

Fashion bikinis: More tips to manage the bloated body look

If you don’t notice you have a bloated body until just before starting for the beach, drink a cup of black coffee with an empty stomach and that can drain extra water out of the body quickly. But this method isn’t very good for the stomach, so avoid it if you have a weak stomach. If all three above tips fail, here is the last suggestion. Make your arms look slimmer by putting your hands on your waist Akimbo arms make arms look slimmer and leaning the body forward at a 45 degree angle makes whole body appear slimmer!

Fashion bikinis: Take care of your feet

Have a pair of charming feet. It will really helps to flaunt your overall personality. A pair of neatly groomed feet adds to your charm. Moisturize your feet. Bathe them in hot water and then apply some body lotion to your feet. Wrap them with thin plastic wrap and warm the feet with hot towels for 10 minutes. Paint your toe nails. Pearly white and bright red are mostly commonly used nail colors. When applying nail polish, leave some room on nail edges to make nails look more delicate.

Fashion bikinis: Your skin needs after-beach care

Give your skin after-beach care. Direct exposure to salty seawater and strong sun rays harms the skin and makes it dry and then peels. Some skin is even allergic to ultra violet rays. So it’s necessary to take special care of the skin within one hour after coming back from seaside. Cool your whole body by having a green tea bath. Soak a make-up pad with a cooling lotion and then keep the pad in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. Pat burning areas of the skin with this pad and keep it on sensitive areas like shoulders, back and chest for 20 minutes. After this cooling treatment, apply a soothing gel to supplement water to the skin.

Fashion bikinis: Sarong the bikini accessory

The sarong is a cover-up favorite among women all over the world. Sarong style looks great on women of all shapes and allows a little more coverage for shy bikini wearers. Its graceful beauty can lend any bikini or swimsuit an inherently feminine style (while serving the added benefit of covering figure flaws). Sarongs are very effective cover-ups for heavy hips, thighs, and legs. A sarong is also one of the most flexible swimsuit accessories in its ability to transfer from beach cover-up to sexy mini-skirt or halter dress.

The trick to wearing a sarong successfully is to get the right wrap. To tie a sarong, hold it horizontally around your hips. Gather approximately three inches of material in each hand and tie a simple square knot at your belly button. To adjust the placement of the sarong on your legs, fold the sarong to the desired length horizontally before tying it.

Fashion bikinis: Sunglasses the bikini accessory

Sunglasses serve the dual purpose of protecting the eyes from harmful ultraviolet (UV) sunrays and of providing a guaranteed Audrey Hepburn/Jackie Onassis sexuality and style. There are quite a few items to consider when buying flattering sunglasses to accompany your bikini. It is important to think about the shape of your face, the color of the lenses, and the amount of UV protection you need.

Fashion bikinis: How do you know if the Bikini is the right thing for you?

Try on your bikinis from the past few years to see how they fit. If they're a little too tight on you, this doesn't mean you can't wear a bikini, it may just mean that you need to move up a size or two. Go to a local department store or a beachwear store that has a wide selection of bikini styles and sizes. Work with a sales representative to find the right bikini for your body type, and try on at least three to five different styles and colors.

Fashion bikinis: Take a honest opinion

Bring a friend who will give you her honest opinion on whether or not the bikinis look right on you. Ask yourself if you feel comfortable wearing each bikini as you try them all on. Ultimately, you must feel comfortable and relaxed wearing the bikini that you choose. If you know you will feel so self-conscious wearing a bikini that it will take all the fun out of being at the beach or laying out at the pool, then wear a one-piece swimsuit or a tankini that you're more comfortable with so that you can relax and have fun.
