They are from Paris, Milan, Sao Paulo, London, Madrid, New York, Miami, Montreal, Barcelona, Bogota, Rio de Janeiro, Toronto, Tokyo and Johannesburg. The fashion runway events usually have the fall and spring seasonal collections. They are organized as fashion weeks. A fashion week is a fashion industry event, lasting approximately one week, which allows fashion designers or "houses" to display their latest collections in runway shows. They are events in which designers present their new collections for the fashion press, retail buyers, and others who influence the fashion world. In these events fashion journalists have a role to review the latest collections just as film critics might cover new releases at Cannes. On the other hand fashion magazine editors are also present and they assess the mood of the season and identify the trends to be photographed and written about. Buyers, who make selections for department stores identify those same trends and assess how their limited funds might be best spent. Others with influence like the dress stylists who plan for grand celebrity functions, socialites and celebrities whose wardrobe choices are widely copied make what essentially are shopping lists of the looks they'll buy and wear for a particular season. The most prominent fashion weeks are held in the fashion capitals like Milan, Paris, London, and New York City. Example of such an event is the “Paris Fashion Show Pret A Porter”. It is a major International Womenswear fashion trade exhibition with unique display of classic to contemporary designs. This fashion show especially deals with haute couture fashion and offers exclusive variety with a difference.
