how do we go about changing mens' views of women?

I am an american woman, I've never really traveled to thesa places, however I have read alot of news articles of women atrosities, like the circumsition thing they do to women in africa, or how women have to cover themselves up, so no man can lust over them,in the middle east. Or how I've read that in china they just kill off or leave the female babies. and in mexico its kinda ok for a man to beat up or kill his wife, with out any consequence legally. So my question really is how do we change all those minds, where do we start? how do we start?
